About the CNU Parents Council Ambassadors
Parents Council Ambassadors assist the University with advancing its mission. They do so by relating the University's vision to the parents of prospective students and by sharing personal experiences that highlight the value of a CNU education.
Ambassadors facilitate the transition of students from high school to college, volunteering at admission events like college fairs, on and off campus open houses, and Admitted Freshman Days. These dedicated CNU parents also assist Student Affairs with the Setting Sail freshman orientation for both students and parents, host regional events for admitted freshmen and their parents, and support sophomore through senior activities.
The CNU Parents Council is an organization of parents of current and/or past CNU students who provide leadership to advance the University and enhance the student experience. Participants are involved in four critical areas (committees): Member Recruitment, Regional Council Development, Scholarship and Internship Development and Prospective Student Regional or On-Campus Events.
We invite all parents who are CNU donors or benefactors to participate in the Parents Council Ambassadors.
As a CNU Parents Council partner, you are invited, along with other parents, to join a regional chapter, participate in one of the four committees and attend regional events.
Our Mission
The mission of the CNU Parents Council Ambassadors is to enhance the student and family experience at Christopher Newport University. The Council provides ongoing communication and volunteer leadership building relationships between the University, students and families.
